The owners of a five month puppy stolen from a County Dublin home have described her theft as “just heartbreaking”.
On Sunday, Sophie Murray’s mother’s house was broken into while she slept.

When she woke up, she found her cards, cash and camera were all taken.
But worst of all, her puppy Belle had been stolen as well.
“They got in and made a mess, the dog was gone and it was just heartbreaking,” Ms Murray explained to Lunchtime Live.
“She’s a tiny, mini Yorkshire Terrier, she’s only five months.
“She’s like my Mum’s shadow; I’m just so nervous about her being away from my Mum.
“Who has her? What condition is she in? It’s frightening.
“I know my Mum can’t stop thinking about what state she might be in because she can barely leave my Mum.”

Ms Murray added that the family are “just praying” that she is found and are hoping her microchip will help them track her down.
“We got onto the microchip company to flag her as stolen, so that’s one step,” she said.
“[We’re] posting as much as we can and just sharing on social media.
“People have been so, so kind and so generous to share; they really care for my Mum and getting Bel back to her.”

Ms Murray described the young puppy as an “absolute angel” and “so cute”.
“My Mum is just lost without her, so we’re just praying that we get her back,” she said.
The family contacted Gardaí who came over straight away and are “keeping in touch” with them.
