UK MPs vote to reject a no-deal Brexit

MPs in Britain have voted to take a no-deal Brexit off the table - by a tiny majority.

The House of Commons voted on Wednesday night whether or not to reject the UK leaving the European Union without a deal in any circumstance.

It was passed by 312 votes in favour, with 308 against - a majority of just four votes.

Varadkar: People who wanted Brexit have been “chasing unicorns”

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said a lot of people who advocated Brexit have been "chasing unicorns for some time".

He was reacting in Washington DC to the latest Brexit developments.

It comes ahead of another House of Commons vote in London, on whether MPs there oppose leaving the European Union without a deal.

Boeing to ground global fleet of 737 Max planes

US aircraft maker Boeing has said it supports attempts to temporarily ground its entire 737 Max fleet.

The planes have already been banned from Irish and European Union airspace, as investigations continue into Sunday's crash in Ethiopia.

All 157 people on board - including Irish engineer Micheál Ryan - were killed.

Couple found dead in Donegal home

Gardaí have launched an investigation, after a couple were found dead in their house in Co Donegal.

The elderly couple were discovered in their bedroom in Riverside View, Convoy on Wednesday afternoon.

Gardaí were contacted by a relative of the couple at 1.30pm.

Chickens in France ‘attack and kill’ fox that broke into their coop

It's usually foxes that kill chickens, but the opposite appears to have happened at a farm in France.

The unusual incident happened at Le Gros-Chêne farming school in Brittany last week.

According to local media, the young fox is believed to have gained access to a coop housing around 3,000 chickens during the night.
