Kriegel trial: Garda investigation into images posted online

A Garda investigation is under way into the publication of material online that may identify the boys convicted of Ana Kriegel's murder.

It focuses on alleged images of the two boys on social media, and possible breaches of the Children's Act.

Earlier this week, Boy A and Boy B were convicted of the 14-year-old's murder at a derelict house in Lucan.

Raids uncover dodgy box operation in Cork worth up to €20m

A pirate TV operation worth up to €20m has been uncovered by Gardaí in Cork.

It was part of ongoing investigations into the activities of an organised group.

An Garda Síochána attached to the Economic Crime Investigation Unit carried out seven searches in the Cork region on Thursday.

There's "enormous hostility" in the EU to granting the UK any further Brexit extension, the Taoiseach has said.

Leo Varadkar was speaking in Brussels, where European leaders are meeting for a two-day summit to discuss who to appoint to top EU jobs such as European Commission President.

Currently, the UK is scheduled to leave the bloc in October after a six-month extension was granted in April.

Netflix confirms price hike for Irish customers

Netflix has announced a price increase for its Irish customers.

From today, the streaming service is increasing the price of its standard and premium plans.

The standard plan, which offers HD viewing and allows customers to watch on two screens simultaneously, will rise by €1 to €11.99.

Eason building on Dublin's O'Connell Street to be sold

Bookshop Eason's is selling its O'Connell Street store in Dublin.

The company has put the iconic building on the market for offers over €24.5m.

As part of the sale, the property will have a 25-year lease to Eason - meaning the new owner will rent the premises back to the bookshop.
