The Dublin bus app for its services in Lucan has been described as “useless” by one pensioner who relies on public transport.
On Lunchtime Live, Anne described the buses as “fairly crowded” after thousands of new homes were built in the Lucan area.
As she is retired, she tends to avoid travelling by bus during rush hour.
“They're not every 10 or 15 minutes either,” she explained.
“So, you could be there 10, 15, 20 minutes waiting for one of them.
“And if they're full, you're standing; now I'm fine, even though I'm nearly 70, I'm okay.
“But if you're somebody in a wheelchair, that's another thing.”
However, Anne added that she finds the unpredictability of the service particularly annoying.
“The app is useless because the app will tell you the bus is coming,” she said.
“I mean, I've been at bus stops where I can say, ‘Yeah, the bus is coming, it's a bit late [but] the bus is coming’.
“And then after about 10 minutes, all of a sudden it goes off and you don't know if the bus is coming or not.”
