Hundreds of Northsiders risk being stranded this Bank Holiday Monday due to planned engineering works on the DART.
With the temperature forecast to hit a balmy 12°C, trains would typically be packed.
However, this Monday, Irish Rail workers will be carrying out maintenance work between Clontarf and Drogheda.
Red line Luas services between Tallaght and Heuston will also be impacted.
On Lunchtime Live, Dublin Bay North TD Cian O’Callaghan said officials need to provide public transport users with an alternative.
“Irish Rail are putting on a very limited bus service to replace the commuter trains,” he explained.
“But when it comes to the DART services that are cancelled, there is nothing in their place at all.
“In the past, what would have happened is there would have been extra buses put on to cope with the demand.
“Since they've stopped doing this, what we see typically at a weekend is hundreds and hundreds of people at bus stops not able to get up on buses, seeing packed buses pass them by, being stranded.”

He also accused Irish Rail of “shrugging their soldiers” at the problem.
“Now, it's questionable, do they have to be doing these as we get into busy summer bank holiday weekends?” he queried.
“Because this is when you have a lot of people travelling and there's a lot of events on this weekend as well.
“I met with them a few months ago when I raised this, I've written to them about it.
“They are aware of this, but they're deciding not to do anything about it.”
Irish Rail has been contacted for comment.
