Russia's top athletics coach has quit in the wake of a series of high profile doping cases.

Valentin Maslakov has stepped down from his role overseeing the national team.

The World Anti-Doping Agency is investigation claims of systematic drug use by the country's athletes, with three Olympic race walking champions receiving bans.

Many of the claims were revealed in a German TV documentary, with the director Hajo Seppelt discussing the investigation on Off The Ball last month.

Irish racewalker Olive Loughnane was also provisionally given a retrospective gold medal for the 2009 world championships after the International Association of Athletics Federations annulled the results of race winner Olga Kaniskina over alleged doping.
