Harry and Meghan are reportedly moving back to the UK, but it's not so the Duchess can reboot her acting career in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen

After rumours emerged that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were planning on moving back to the UK, it was said that one of the reasons was because of an acting job for the Duchess.

The gossip was that Meghan had been approached about appearing in the third season of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, with season two landing on Netflix in September.

However, new reports indicate that this isn't the case, and the offer has either been withdrawn, cancelled or never existed.

Speaking on The Pat Kenny Show, the Irish Times' Jack Horgan-Jones was going through the Sunday papers with the host and speculated as to what's going on with the royal pair.

He said: "They are everywhere. Obviously the news of their relocation breaking in the second half of the week and there's a huge amount of speculation as to why they're coming.

"It seems that Meghan Markle was offered a part in The Gentleman, this Netflix series. But apparently now it's seemingly being withdrawn or cancelled or something like that.

"So that's up in the air."

One of the papers suggested the Duchess should be aiming higher in terms of roles she might be seeking out, but Mr Horgan-Jones said that this was "around where she was as an actress, even though she's a bigger celebrity than she ever was a thespian."

The couple left the UK six years ago and while they might be returning to England, they will not be returning as active members of the Royal Family.
