This week’s sporting panel was one with a difference. Instead of sporting competitors, veterans and experts, we had a studio full of some of Ireland’s finest film making talent.

Joining Ger Gilroy were be Lenny Abrahamson, director of Adam & Paul, What Richard Did and Garage, IFTA award winning film maker Maurice Sweeney and Luke McManus, the man who directed the superb horse racing documentary, Jump Boys.

The panel discussed the difficulties of properly conveying sport on film, the differing strengths of documentary versus feature sport films, and which Irish sports stories they’d like to see told.
