Wayne Rooney is the new captain of England.

Manager Roy Hodgson has named the Manchester United skipper as the player to succeed Steven Gerrard, who retired from international football after the World Cup.

Four uncapped players have been included in a 22-man squad to face Norway in a friendly and Switzerland in their first Euro 2016 qualifier.

Arsenal's Callum Chambers, Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph and Newcastle's Jack Colback are all included:
