The tyrannical regime of North Korea has turned its remorseless gaze on to a new pair of targets – Seth Rogen and James Franco.
The duo – stars of Pineapple Express and This is the End – have been condemned by the regime for the content of their new film, The Interview.
The film tells the story of two celebrity journalists (Franco and Rogen) who secure an interview with the Glorious Leader himself, Kim Jong Un. The celebrity hacks are then enlisted by U.S. government officials who look to use the pair’s access to attempt an assassination of the Korean leader. That’s all we know of the plot right now, but it’s plenty for North Korea.
Kim Myong-chol, executive director of The Centre for North Korea-US Peace, and a man often labelled an unofficial spokesman for the North Korean Communist regime, said of the film: “There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society.”
“A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine.
“And let us not forget who killed (President John F.) Kennedy – Americans.
“In fact, President Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well,” Kim Myong-chol said.
Seth Rogen welcomed the news that Kim Jong Un would be taking the time to watch The Interview.
Apparently Kim Jong Un plans on watching #TheInterview. I hope he likes it!! http://t.co/5VrsgYlydE
