France have named five uncapped players in their squad for their remaining Six Nations game with Ireland on October 31.

Les Bleus will go into that match level on points with England, who finish their campaign away to Italy.

Wales provide the opposition in a warm-up match on October 24 in Paris.

Subsequent to the visit of Andy Farrell's side to the Stade de France, Fabien Galthié's side will face Fiji, Scotland and Italy in the new Autumn Nations Cup.

Racing 92 duo Olivier Klemenczak and Georges-Henri Colombe are among the new faces in the squad.

Joining them are Lyon second row Killian Geraci, Toulouse no.8 Selevasio Tolofua and La Rochelle winger Arthur Retière.

"It is a selection that makes sense," general manager Raphael Ibanez said, "Taking into account the desire to maintain the momentum, the momentum, launched during the previous international window in the Six Nations."

The game with Wales remains a bone of contention for the French League (LNR), however.

They don't want to release players for six games during the autumn period, wishing instead to keep it at five.

The French Rugby Union (FFR) and LNR held a meeting by video conference today, but no resolution was met.

The FFR said afterwards, "The FFR regrets this inflexible stance, especially as professional rugby clubs will release foreign players in accordance with the international window imposed by World Rugby, the only international team suffering is our national team.
