Many of us were left reeling by the scenes on Wednesday evening as a mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington DC.

However, for many people it was not the violence that caught their attention but the reaction from capitol police which spoke to the disparity in how US law enforcement treats people of colour as opposed to those who are white.
