The senior roles have been split across Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Greens - with six roles for the two larger parties, and three for the Greens.

Donnelly says 'green list' for international travel may not be ready for July 9th

The Health Minister has refused to say whether the list of countries people can travel to without quarantining will be published in the next two weeks.

The previous government had promised to publish the ‘green list’ before July 9th, when it would come into force.

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said he is ‘beyond nervous’ about any increase in foreign travel and insisted that the advice to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Ireland remains in place.

Fianna Fáil's Lorraine Clifford Lee will return to the upper house, while Independent Eileen Flynn will become the first female Traveller in the Oireachtas.

Doherty: Paddy Holohan mayor nomination 'regrettable'

Sinn Féin spokesman on Finance Pearse Doherty has said it's "regrettable" that his party colleagues chose to put forward the name of Paddy Holohan for mayor of South Dublin.

Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast, the Donegal TD says the party's leadership knew nothing about the nomination.

Holohan was suspended from the party after remarks he made on his podcast about former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar emerged during the general election campaign earlier this year.

Driving test centres to open in coming weeks

Driving tests for some vehicles are set to resume from today at 14 centres around the country.

It's been confirmed that the driver testing service will restart on a gradual basis during Phase 3 of the road map for easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

Initially only truck, bus and motorcycle tests will take place.
