Police confirm discovery of Nóra Quoirin's body in Malaysia

Nóra Quoirin's family has confirmed that her body was found today in Malaysia.

The body was found shortly before 2pm local time today (7am Irish time) in a hilly area around 2km away from the resort Nóra disappeared from.

Her remains were then airlifted to a local hospital, where the Quoirin family identified them as that of the missing 15-year-old.

Norwegian to end transatlantic flights between Ireland and North America

The airline Norwegian is to end flights between Ireland and North America from September 15th.

The company, which started the service in July 2017, says it is "proactively engaging" with pilots and cabin crew at its Dublin base.

It says it is also in talks with unions to ensure that redundancies "remain a last resort."

Fifteen people rescued after being swept out to sea in Donegal

Fifteen people have been rescued after being swept out to sea in Co Donegal.

They got into difficulty while swimming from Magheroarty Pier on Tuesday afternoon.

The operation was coordinated by the Malin Head Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Centre, which received a number of emergency calls at around 4.00pm, reporting persons in difficulty off of the coast.

Vodafone launches commercial 5G for Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford

Commercial 5G is being launched in Ireland for the first time.

5G is capable of much faster downloads than 4G and 3G technology and can manage larger volumes of data.

Vodafone has become the first mobile operator to introduce a 5G network, which is going live in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford today.

Eight businesses ordered to close over serious food safety breaches

Eight food businesses were issued with closure orders last month for food safety breaches.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) said three of the businesses were in Dublin - while the others were Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Limerick and Kildare.

In Dublin City Centre, Govinda's restaurant on Middle Abbey Street was ordered to close due to an "obvious cockroach infestation."
