The trailer for the highly-anticipated new Disney movie Enchanted has dropped and County Wicklow gets a feature.

Although the story stars American actors Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams and is set in a magical land, some Irish viewers can expect to feel right at home.

Last summer, the village of Enniskerry was transformed into the picturesque main street of a fairytale town.

Locals were chuffed that their village had been chosen as the set for the megamovie.

Two locals spoke to Lunchtime Live about the hubbub filming caused.

Melanie Corrigan - Councillor for Bray West and member of Wicklow tourism board - said: “It’s really going to put us on the map… there’s such excitement in the air.

“For tourism in Co Wicklow, this is going to be going on for years. We still have people coming to see where Leap Year and PS I Love You were filmed.”

Enniskerry's temporary transformation included the construction of a castle set, one of the roads painted purple, and new on-theme shopfronts.

Many Disney fans travelled to the village to try to catch a glimpse of the star-studded cast.

Peter Northern - owner of Poppies café in Enniskerry - thought the crowds and inconvenience were very much "short-term pain for long-term gain".

He said: "They’re doing a lot to make the village even prettier."

Disenchanted is the sequel to the highly-successful 2007 film Enchanted.

The new movie sees Adams and Dempsey's characters move from New York to the suburbs, when Giselle (Adams) begins to question her happily ever after and wishes her life was more like a perfect fairytale.

However, her wish turns both her real life and her animated home of Andalasia upside down.
