Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has hit out at Wes Hoolahan for diving in the game when their two sides met this weekend.

Ikeme had been sent off after taking down Wes Hoolahan for the penalty that allowed Robbie Brady to extend Norwich's advantage, and he was not happy with the decision which lead to him getting his marching orders.

However, the referee was not the one in the firing line for Ikeme, but rather Irish international Wes Hoolahan, who he claimed had "blatantly" dived to earn the penalty.

Ikeme went on to say that he found it hard "not to be frustrated" by what happened, and that Hoolahan dived again when he pushed him after he had initially gone to ground from his challenge.

However, he also said that he had nothing in particualr against Hoolahan, and was simply upset with the game being decided by a penalty.

Speaking after the match about the incident, Norwich manager Alex Neil said that while he was not in a position to see the actual challenge that lead to the referee pointing to the spot, Ikeme was deservedly sent off by the referee as a result of his actions.

"The penalties were difficult for me to see in both boxes, because they were so close to the touchline," Neil said. “Their goalie didn't respond in the way he should have done and deservedly got his red card."

Neil's side now sit in 10th after their 3-1 win against Wolves, who are eight points and eight places behind them.
