Danny Welbeck says he had pictured himself playing for his new club Arsenal some time in the future.
The England striker moved from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, ending a Reds career that had begun at the age of 8.
Speaking via the club's online video service Arsenal Player, he says Arsenal are a team that suits his playing style.
"It's a team that I've always watched in the Premier League. I'd envisaged myself playing in this team before and for it to finally happen is very exciting," said Welbeck, who once told Inside United Magazine that he modeled his game on Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
"When I was younger my hero was Thierry Henry," he had said in the inteview.
