While the problem of diving in football is at almost intolerable levels, and it appears the odd time in GAA, it hasn't yet become a big issue in rugby. 

That's partly to do with the tradition and history of the game of course, but it 's also helped by referees taking a stand against it and making sure that they stamp it out when they do see it. 

That's exactly what Nigel Owens did on the weekend when he saw what he believed was a piece of simulation from Scotland's Stewart Hogg, and told the player in no uncertain terms that he would be having none of that, thank you very much.

He tells the player that he saw "nothing wrong with that...if you want to dive like that, come back in two weeks and play", referencing the fact that the game was taking place at Newcastle United's St. James' Park.
