New Zealand did about enough to overcome Georgia last night without impressing too many people, but a fantastic effort from the underdogs did not go unnoticed.
Some late tries from the All Blacks put the gloss on a scoreline of 43-10 that really didn't reflect the level of the performance from Georgia, who weren't expected to do much to stop the holders.
Their talismanic number 8 Mamuka Gorgodze was their best player on a night when they needed big names to step up and put a challenge to New Zealand, and even though he was brought off with a slight knock, most of the fans in the ground thought he was the best player on the pitch.
That's why he got a standing ovation when he was announced as the Man of the Match, and the player himself looked a little bit shocked but also extremely pleased to have been given the award.
He can't believe it! Mamuka Gorgodze realises he's man of the match, & possibly the most popular man in the stadium! https://t.co/ti7BlOvsBf

It's always nice to see that these accolades still mean something to the players.
