If you were wondering why Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was in Rome yesterday on transfer deadline day, it was due to his involvement in a charity match.
The Frenchman was managing one of the teams in the inter-religious Match for Peace which was the brainchild of Pope Francis and his compatriot, the recently retired Javier Zanetti of Inter Milan and Argentina fame.
With ex-Barcelona manager Tata Martino on the opposition bench, he and Wenger fielded a team featuring all-time greats and players of many religious faiths.
And just to show that class is permanent, two of those players who defined separate World Cups in 1986 and 1994 combined deliciously for a throwback to old-school football...
