Leinster's hopes of a place in the European Champions Cup knock-out stages are still very much alive following a 50 points to 8 win over Castres at the RDS.

Leinster ran in seven tries, with the bonus point secured inside the first half.

Matt O'Connor's side remain in the running to finish top of Pool 2 after their win.

An under-strength Ulster side ran in four tries away to Toulon this afternoon, but still suffered a demoralising 60-22 defeat in their European Pool 3 clash at the Stade Mayol.

Steffon Armitage got a hat-trick of tries among the eight for the reigning European champions.

It was also a disastrous afternoon for Munster in Pool 1.

Chris Ashton got two of three tries for Saracens in a 33-10 win at Allianz Park.

Owen Farrell also kicked 18 points for the home side.

Denis Hurley got Munster's only try with 11 minutes remaining.

As things stand, Clermont top the Pool on 18 points, with Munster third on 10.
