A late goal from Luis Fernandinho saw Manchester City sneak a goal ahead of Aston Villa in this evening's Premier League fixture. Final score at the Ethiad was 3-2, putting City a single point ahead of Arsenal for now.

Earlier, Liverpool's hopes of Champions League football suffered a crushing blow with a scoreless draw away to West Brom.

Leicester climbed out of the bottom three with a 1-nil win at fellow strugglers, Burnley.
