Chelsea have opened up a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League.

Two apiece for Oscar and Diego Costa helped Jose Mourinho's side to a 5-0 win against Swansea.

Southampton regained third spot with a 2-1 win away to Newcastle. It was Eljero Elia with Southampton's goals at St James' Park.

Dwight Gayle also managed a brace at Turf Moor, where Crystal Palace enjoyed a 3-2 win against Burnley.

There was only a single goal at King Power Stadium, where Krkic Bojan secured a win for Stoke.

Second half goals from Marouane Fellaini and James Wilson saw Manchester United overcome QPR, keeping them in the top four for the moment.

Elsewhere, Tottenham enjoyed a 2-1 win against Sunderland, while Liverpool's two goals gave them a win against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
