Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says it is unlikely that Divock Origi will be coming to Anfield in this transfer window.
They bought the Belgian striker from Lille last summer and immediately loaned him back to the French club until the end of the season.
Liverpool had been looking at ways to bring Origi in sooner due to injury problems for Daniel Sturridge and a lack of goals from Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert.
But Rodgers says a return is not on the cards until the summer.
"The likelihood is that he is going to stay at Lille. There was obviously a chat between the clubs but nothing more than that. He'll more likely stay at Lille," said Rodgers.
