Tottenham are reportedly preparing a £20 million bid for Everton and Ireland midfielder James McCarthy.

According to The Express, the deal would involve defender Younes Kaboul and winger Aaron Lennon going in the opposite direction to Goodison Park in exchange for McCarthy.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has previously insisted that none of his important players will leave during the transfer window but speculation has continued over the midfielder, who has been absent for several weeks with an on going hamstring injury.
