Sunderland have completed the signing of Liverpool's Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old is Gus Poyet's eighth summer signing.
Coates' arrival means if Fabio Borini is to return to the club, it will have to be as a permanent signing because Premier League teams can only borrow one player from an English top flight rival.

Borini has been linked with a move to QPR ahead of tonight's deadline.
