On Saturday, the Formula 1 fraternity woke up to the type of news it had not had to confront since the death of Ayrton Senna in 1994.

The severe injuries suffered by Jules Bianchi (25) at last year's Japanese Grand Prix cast a shadow over the sport and his death has also served to remind us all of the inherent dangers of motorsport.

But it is also an opportunity to remember Bianchi, his talent and the great potential he had.

On this week's Inside F1, I was joined by Thomas Maher of Formula Spy to talk about Bianchi and what the sport can learn from the tragedy.

With the Hungarian Grand Prix coming up this weekend, we also looked ahead to the race and reflected on the first half of the season as F1's summer break prepares to kick in.
