The FAI have confirmed that Ireland will play host to Latvia in a friendly international on November 15th at the Aviva Stadium.

They will travel to play Poland in Poznan, four days later.

The announcement of the fixture against Latvia has led to increased speculation that the FAI are now close to appointing a new manager.

Martin O'Neill now the favourite to get the job after the odds on him being appointed successor to Giovanni Trapattoni were slashed dramatically this afternoon.
