It was a great weekend for Irish 800 metre athlete Mark English as he took a silver medal at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Prague.

A bronze medallist last year in the European outdoors, the Donegal man told Off The Ball that he is confident he can make his mark in the World Championships.

"Now I have the medal, it's a bit more pressure but it proves these championships that I'm able to race with that pressure being put on to me. It's a great thing to have going into the World Championships. All my training is going to be geared towards that," he said. 

"It's going to be a different kettle of fish. It's going to be higher quality but I think I'm able to compete with any of those guys."
