Last year was a campaign to forget for both Kilkenny and Galway.
The 2012 All Ireland finalists meet on Sunday in the Leinster Championship semi-final.
But Denis Walsh of the Sunday Times is optimistic of Galway's chances this summer.
He joined Ger and Gizzy to look ahead to the game and said: "Galway are the eternal mysteries of the Championship. Their good years and bad years are very unpredictable. Who knows what team will show up on Sunday. I've a hunch that this could be a good year for Galway."
He thinks that they have recovered some of the form of 2012 and believes they have a bit of an Indian sign over Kilkenny having beaten Brian Cody's team on a number of occasions.
Diarmuid believes they are "frustratingly unpredictable" and thinks there are signs that Kilkenny are coming again to an extent.
"What Galway do is a bit of a mystery but that's what makes them interesting," said Gizzy, who also pondered where talisman Joe Canning will be fielded.
