League leaders Dundalk had a very interesting week in the SSE Airtricity League. First on Friday they lost 1 - 0 at St Patrick's Athletic before bouncing back with a 5 - 0 thrashing of a weakened Derry City side on Monday.

The result leaves Dundalk four points ahead of Cork City with the southern side having a game in hand.

But can Cork City take advantage of any future defeats for Dundalk?

Stuart Byrne and Roddy Collins joined us as always on a Tuesday and while Roddy sees a great backbone in this Cork side as evidenced by Dan Murray's late winner over Shamrock Rovers on Friday night.

"It's backbone but also it's tactical because they do not create a lot of chances. They're very one-dimensional, they're very hard workers and when they go to the final stages of games and try to get something, they throw Big Dan up he gets his head on the end of a ball or someone picks up the pieces. They will not give up but it's not conducive, I mean you cannot depend on a Dan Murray 90th minute goal weekly," said Roddy.

Stuey pointed out that Dundalk's goal difference is far superior and thinks it has been a "difficult ask for Cork for a long time" despite being "excellent" and dealing with the expectation levels amid much fervour in Cork.

"They do have a very good bunch of young players," he said, although Roddy sees the team as "workman-like", "determined" and "honest".

The lads also looked ahead to the upcoming FAI Cup quarter finals, with a close look at non-league Avondale United who take on First Division Finn Harps and Stuey also explaining why he thinks Bohemians can beat St Pats.
