Former Ireland defender Paddy Mulligan says he is not disappointed by Jack Grealish's decision to choose his birth country of England at senior level over the Republic of Ireland, who he represented at underage.

"Hallelujah! Happy days! I didn't want him in an Irish jersey anyway," said Paddy when he reacted to the news on the Monday Rewind.

"I feel that if you represent a country at underage level, you can't be changing over. You've got to have your loyalty some place along the line. No loyalties there and it's been obvious for quite some time."

Paddy also feels that Grealish has been over-rated given the nature of his performances at club level for Aston Villa.

"I've seen him play quite a few times and I'm not impressed by him. On the pitch, that's where he has to produce. [He] has not produced for Villa on a regular basis. I saw him against Leicester City two weeks back, got a smashing goal but was on the periphery for the rest of the game. That's the type of player that he is. He's not going to assert himself."
