Roger Federer has made his earliest exit from the Australian Open in 14 years after being dumped out by Andreas Seppi this morning.
The four-time champion was dismissed in four sets by his Italian opponent, 4-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-7, (5-7).
"I just tried to do my best," said world number 46 Seppi. "It was one of my best matches for sure.
"You never can feel comfortable. I was focusing on my service games."
Meanwhile, the was no such trouble for Andy Murray as the Scot reached the last 16 by beating Portugal's Joao Sousa 6-1, 6-1, 7-5.
