WGC-Cadillac Championship winner Dustin Johnson is the latest big name to express his intention to compete in this year's Irish Open at the end of May.
Rickie Fowler, Lee Westood, Sergio Garcia and Ernie Els are already confirmed as participants for the tournament, which is hosted this year by Rory McIlroy's foundation at Royal County Down at the end of May.
"Hopefully we will make it work. I am just not sure of my schedule at this stage but I am going to try and make it work," said Johnson, adding that he had been speaking to McIlroy about the possibility.
Meanwhile, the Irish Open's five years without a title sponsor will come to an end this week.
It has been reported that a corporate backer will be unveiled on Friday, signing an initial one year deal for this year's tournament at Royal County Down.
