So Kilkenny and Galway have to do it again this weekend after a thrilling 5-16 to 3-22 draw in the Leinster semi-final.
But which team will have the edge when they reacquaint themselves?
Daithi Regan and The Sunday Times' Denis Walsh reviewed Sunday's clash and Daithi believes Kilkenny erred in the final minutes, citing a "naivety" defensively.
Walsh also believes that the Cats' previous "ruthlessness" has gone and although Daithi said that Galway's goals were "well taken", the former Offaly great reckons that the Cats let the game slip.
But Daithi thinks Galway have "a lot of problems" and also noted a "naivety" within the Tribesmen's ranks.
