UFC President Dana White has dismissed the idea that Conor McGregor could box Manny Pacquiao in the future.

White is a longtime fan of the Filipino slugger and was vocal in the past in the hope that Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather would eventually meet in the ring. The paid finally squared off in 2015 in the biggest Pay-Per-View event in history - although the bout lacked the action the fans were hoping to see.

The current hype surrounding Conor McGregor is that he might square off against the unbeaten Mayweather but the only negotiations so far appear to be the insults traded by the pair on social media.

Speaking to yahoo sports, White said: "Listen, I love Manny Pacquiao. But I don't love Bob Arum. You can tell Arum to save his money and not make any calls over here because we aren't doing business with him."

McGregor is currently the UFC's lightweight champion and is due to find out the next contender to his title after Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov face off at UFC 209 in March.
