Glasgow Celtic have set a new domestic Scottish record having gone 27 games unbeaten so far this season and have now surpassed the legendary Lisbon Lions side of the 1960s.

Brendan Rodger's side comfortably beat Hearts 4-0 with goals from Callum McGregor, Scott Sinclair (x2) and Patrick Roberts.

The win moves Celtic 22 points clear of second place Rangers and 24 clear of Aberdeen although the Dons have a game in hand.

Speaking to BBC after the match, former Irish keeper Packie Bonner said: "I can't talk highly enough of Scott Sinclair. He was hungry in the box and was desperate to get in there and score. He has had a bad time in England and he has come here ready to prove himself."

Speaking at the post-match press conference Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: "It's a huge honour and a brilliant thing considering the history of the club.

"It was an outstanding team performance and we defended forward. We played with high pressure.

"Our ability to defend forward created lots of chances for us," he added.

Celtic welcome Aberdeen to Celtic Park on Wednesday as they look to continue their incredible domestic form.
