It's not the best kept secret in Gaelic football at the moment but it looks likely that Kieran McGeeney will be taking the reins of the Armagh senior setup.

The county board meet tonight with the former All Ireland winner likely to be ratified as Paul Grimley's successor.

His former Kildare selector Niall Carew joined us on the line to discuss the development and is confident that Armagh will thrive under McGeeney's stewardship.

"You'll find out yourself next year that it's going to be Kildare's loss and Armagh's gain. I can see that Armagh team winning Ulster the next two years. Geezer won't like me saying that but I think he's that driven that he'll get them over the line. I think with Geezer in charge, they will get over the line."

Carew also touched on the club issues that McGeeney will learn from his time in Kildare.
