Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has defended his surprise decision to make Emmanuel Adebayor his captain at White Hart Lane last night.

The striker hadn't started since the beginning of November, and was substituted after 65 minutes of their 1-0 League Cup semi-final first leg win over Sheffield United.

Some supporters booed him as he came off, but Pochettino says he had no concerns about making Adebayor captain.
