Amidst all the talk about Merchant’s Arch in the last week, there’s been very little talk about the organisation who put it there.

One of the most transformative organisations in the history of city planning anywhere in the world; no single organisation reshaped this place quite like the Wide Streets Commissioners.

While not everyone liked their work, we still see it every day.
