‘Unprecedented emissions cuts’ are needed to avoid temperature rises making much of world ‘unlivable’. 

That’s according to a new report from the United Nations’ Environment Programme, which found  that the world has failed to meet its target of limiting the rise in global temperatures to 1.5 degrees, and will likely breach this threshold in the next decade.
