Is The Passage of Time an Illusion?

In 1955 Einstein wrote that “the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion”. 

General Relativity posits that rather than us travelling along a line from day to day, we are the line and our journey along it is just a trick of our senses.

It certainly doesn’t feel like that’s right, so could Einstein have been mistaken?
