Two heavyweight stalwarts of Irish broadcasting butted heads this evening, as Vincent Browne dropped in to see George Hook on The Right Hook.
Nobody was giving an inch, with the election (and how pointless it is, according to Vincent) Ireland’s social inequality, taxation, the GDP and Labour’s failings all getting the pair throwing barbs back and forth.
Stumbled upon @vincentbrowne talking to @ghook on newstalk. Very entertaining. In stitches driving the car a few minutes ago.

And, ever the gracious guest, Vincent called on the Revenue Commissioner to audit George. “If there’s anyone in the Revenue Commissioner listening to this, have a look at George’s property tax!”
We intended to write up what happened, but it was all just too spectacular to sum up. So here’s some of favourite quotes from Vincent and George’s chat.
“You know well you can’t say things like that on live radio” - George
“Total and complete rubbish. You are talking complete and absolute rubbish George!” - Vincent
“”You said I tell people how to vote. No, I Don’t! Never done it! Try something else” - Vincent
“I’m not that old. You are maybe, but I’m not.” – Vincent
George Hook and Vincent Browne talking on Newstalk right now. Fascinating. Like Frost/Nixon with more phlegm.
