Reports are coming in that RTÉ in Dublin has been evacuated due to a bomb threat.
News of the evacuation began to trickle through after 9:00am on Friday morning.
Sources tell Newstalk that Gardaí and the armed response unit are on site.
Newstalk's Barry Whyte told The Claire Byrne Show: "The RTE campus in Donnybrook has been evacuated in the last 10-15 minutes because they've received a bomb threat.
"I've been told that this bomb threat was made by a generic email which has been taken seriously. Obviously, the week that's in it, we've seen this happen already this week.
We've seen it happen a couple of weeks ago too in schools on both sides of the border. There were dozens evacuated.
I'm just speaking to a number of [RTÉ] staff here who have been texting me. They've all been evacuated and they're stood outside the campus. The armed response unit is there.
"So yeah that's what's going on at the minute."
Since the RTÉ news broke, other media outlets such as Virgin Meda, Bauer Media and Mediahuis were also evacuated.
An Garda Síochána released a statement that reads: "An Garda Síochána is aware of a threat made against media organisations here and in Europe.
"An Garda Síochána has been liaising with the Irish media organisations and the threats will be investigated."
