Today

A chilly start to today with frost, fog and icy stretches as the last of the rain, sleet and snow clears the East coast soon after daybreak.

Scattered wintry showers in the West will become more widespread in the morning but will die out again to leave a dry afternoon for most parts with spells of winter sunshine.
