Tunisia's government says 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the deadly attack on a beach resort.

The country's authorities also revealed they were hunting two more militants who trained in Libya with the men who carried out last Friday's killings and those at the Bardo Museum in March.

In March, two gunmen killed 21 people at the Tunis Bardo museum, before they were shot.

Lazhar Akremi, minister for parliamentary relations, said: "This is a group who were trained in Libya, and who had the same objective. Two attacked the Bardo and one attacked Sousse."

"Police are hunting for two more."

38 foreigners, including three Irish people, were killed in Friday's attack before the gunman was shot by police.

It comes as the removal takes place for two of the Irish victims today - Larry and Martina Hayes from Athlone were shot dead during the attack.

Lorna Carty from Meath also lost her life when a gunman opened fire on a beach in Sousse.

A total of 30 British people are believed to have been killed in the attack.

A minute silence will be held across the UK on Friday at midday, marking one week since the attack.

Meanwhile, the British government has indicated it is paving the way for airstrikes on Islamic State terrorists in Syria in the wake of the beach massacre.
