Cold and windy today with scattered showers - some heavy and possibly wintry to begin.
Most of the showers will affect Ulster as well as northern and eastern parts of Leinster, where they may turn prolonged this morning. Just the odd heavy one elsewhere, with much of the south midlands and southeast staying nearly fully dry.
Becoming mostly dry by early afternoon with winter sunshine - just a few showers pushing in off the Atlantic. Fresh to strong, northwesterly winds will moderate later in the day.

Many areas will be dry, cold and clear for much of tonight. However, showers will affect Atlantic coastal area later, with scattered developing before morning as southwest winds begin to freshen.
One or two snow flurries may transpire.
Lowest temperatures of 0 to -3 degrees. A sharp frost and icy stretches developing with mostly light westerly winds.
