One Galway newsagent has removed copies of the Irish Daily Star newspaper from its shelves in protest at the paper's front page picture.

The tabloid is running a photograph depicting body bags outside the Berkeley apartment on its front page today.

It has been branded as insensitive and unnecessary.

The shop has been open for 34 years. Paul O'Brien runs O'Brien newsagents on William Street in Galway.

He says today is the first time a publication has been removed from the shelves.
