Tributes are pouring in for the two Donegal teenagers that died in a horror crash in the early hours of Monday morning.

Alana Harkin and Thomas Gallagher, both 18 years old,  died in the crash at Gleneely on the Inishowen Peninsula at about 12:45am yesterday.

A third teen who was also travelling in the car was taken to Letterkenny Hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

It is understood they were travelling home from Simpson’s Bar and Restaurant where Alan Harkin was working and had just dropped off another friend in the Glengad area of Inishowen.

Both Alana and Thomas were from Gleneely and tributes have been pouring in from the local community this morning.

In a post on Facebook, Thomas’s family described him as “the light in every room” and said his loss has “forever changed our lives”.

Meanwhile, Simpson’s Bar and Restaurant said Alana, “had a smile that would brighten up any room”.

“She was always so bubbly and friendly, she will always have a special place in our hearts and will be sorely missed by all,” they said.

“We would like to send our deepest condolences to The Harkin & Gallagher families.”

Thomas’s removal is from the Mountain Top Chapel of Rest this afternoon ahead of his funeral in Moville on Friday.

Alana’s removal is also from the Mountain Top Chapel of Rest this afternoon.
