Today
Cold today with any early frost clearing quickly. Rather cloudy at first over parts of Munster with some drizzle, but this soon clearing southwards. Brightening up in all areas this morning, with some sunny spells developing. But scattered showers too, mainly in northern and eastern counties, some of hail or sleet with a little snow possible on higher ground.
Top temperatures just 4 to 7 C., feeling colder in a fresh northeasterly wind also.
Tonight
Very cold overnight, with mostly clear skies. Winds moderate to fresh northeasterly at first, but decreasing light to moderate northwesterly later in the night.
Lowest temperatures zero to -4 C., with a widespread severe frost and ice. A few light sleet or snow showers are likely to affect parts of Ulster and also eastern coastal areas.
